Drs. Aaron & Emily Austin
Aaron was an All American swimmer in High School, a professional mountain bike racer in Chiropractic College, and now competes in local bike races and triathlons. I have a tremendous amount of experience treating and dealing with athletic injuries (on both sides of the table – I’ve spent plenty of time getting hurt!), but nothing makes me feel better than fixing people. I don’t care if you’re a world champion, a grandfather, a grand-daughter or anyone in between – if you’re hurting I love to make you feel better!
Emily was a star runner in High School before a car accident left her with permanent damage to her leg that prevented her from high level training. Thank God! I never would have met her if she hadn’t been sidelined bad enough to help me through chemistry class! She has a passion for helping new or expecting Moms and babies and continues to field calls from patients who want to talk to the “other Dr. Austin”.
The bottom line is we love what we do! We care about our patients and do our best to make people feel better. We designed the office to operate in a way that allows us to provide the best adjustment at the best time, for the best prices in town.
Our work is delivered in a low stress, no pressure, relaxed environment. All we do is chiropractic work. We don’t peddle pillows or hock vitamins or sell anything in the office to increase the bottom line because we believe it distracts from focusing on what YOU need. It’s a simple, effective office, and we’re blessed to be a part of so many peoples lives!
We were High School sweethearts, we did our undergraduate work at USCB, attended Chiropractic College together and now we’re stoked to be raising our family here in Santa Barbara. We have 4 beautiful children: Ryler, Rhett, Avery, and Sadie, 2 dogs, a cat, 2 fish … we feel like Ward and June Cleaver sometimes!
When we first graduated from Chiropractic College, Emily and I promptly accepted jobs in New Zealand and were ready to head down south for a few years. 2 months before we were to leave we found out we were pregnant, and at the threat of being disowned by our families for having the first grand baby on the other side of the world we decided to stay in the States. I immediately took a dream job in Northern California working at a beautiful practice with all the bells and whistles that every Doctor dreams of.
What I found out is that the high volume, high pressure practice doesn’t fit my personality. I remember running from one exam room to another and stoping briefly to look at the 10 people working for us, the secretary busily trying to fill the appointment book, the advertising gal tearing her hair out trying to keep up the pace, at the line of people patiently and impatiently waiting to be treated, and I said to myself, “I could do this better by myself… I could give my patients more personal care, I could get to know them better, I could create individualized care programs for them and I could do it by myself, if I would just slow down.”
So I did.
I quit the “dream job” and opened up what has turned out to be my ultimate dream office here in Santa Barbara. I love to get to greet you when you walk in the door and send you off when you leave. I love to treat you like family and friends. I love my job and I love taking care of you!
